Christian J. "Joe Boy" Tomkus

Christian J. “Joe Boy” Tomkus, 35, of Friendly, WV, died January 2, 2009. He was born, December 24, 1973, in Sistersville, WV, a son of Raenelle Tomkus Echard of Cairo, WV. He was a 1992 graduate of Ritchie County High School, and was formerly employed by Simonton Windows. He was an artist and a welder. He was protestant by faith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his step-father, David Echard of Cairo, WV, a sister, Kimberly Ryan of Cairo, WV, his grandmother, Phyllis Northcraft of Friendly, WV, uncle, John Bettem and his wife, Kathy of New Martinsville, WV, aunt, Vicky Byers and her husband, Jim of Sardis, OH, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, and his grandfather, William Dent.
Services will be held Monday, January 5, 2009, at 3 P. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Pastor John Strimer officiating. Interment will be in the Pt. Lookout Cemetery, Pleasants County, WV. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P. M. Sunday and from 2 to 3 P. M. Monday at the funeral home.

Delphia J. Hendrickson Ingram, 90, of Vienna, WV, died, January 2, 2009, at Carehaven of Pleasants, Belmont, WV. She was born, December 2, 1918, in Ritchie County, WV, a daughter of the late Frederick S. and Martha Janes Hendrickson. She was a member of the Raven Rock United Methodist Church, and the Raven Rock Community Club. She enjoyed sewing crafts, crocheting, and quilting.
She is survived by her children, James Ingram of Pursley, WV, Dale Ingram and his wife, Sarah of Boaz, WV, and Sharon Kemp and her husband, Gary of St. Marys, WV, a sister, Grace Gregg of Parkersburg, WV, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred R. Ingram in 1982, a grandson, Michael Ingram, and infant great grandson, Ryan Brown, three half-sisters, Dorothy Pifer, Mildred Jameson, and Wilma Allard, and four brothers, Charles, Frank, William, and Robert Hendrickson.
Services will be held Monday, January 5, 2009, at 11 A. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Pastor Mark Mayfield officiating. Interment will be in the Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City, WV. Friends may call from 2 to 8 P. M. Sunday.

Lucille McHenry Higgins, 82, of St. Marys, WV, Oak Grove Community, died, December 31, 2008, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, OH. She was born, September 27, 1926, in Hebron, Pleasants County, WV, a daughter of the late Andrew and Dulcie McDonald McHenry. She was a member of the Willow Island Baptist Church, was retired from the former Colin Anderson Ceneter as a baker, and enjoyed reading and baking. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Don Dearth of St. Marys, WV, three grandchildren, Christopher Dearth of St. Marys, WV, Shannon Clary of Oakland, MD, and Jason Higgins of Grafton, WV, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Roy J. Higgins, four sisters, Evelyn Kelly, Sylvia Lamp, Ruth Cunningham, and Edith McHenry, and seven brothers, Charles McHenry, Paul McHenry, James McHenry, David McHenry, John McHenry, George McHenry, and Edgar McHenry. Services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2009, at 11 A. M. at the Willow Island Baptist Church, Willow Island, WV with Pastor Richard Cale officiating. Interment will be in the Willow Island Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P. M. Friday, and from 10 to 11 A. M. at the church.

Margaret V. Rodgers, 90, of Statesville, NC, formerly of Raven Rock, Pleasants County, WV, died, December 20, 2008. She was born, January 25, 1918, in Pleasants County, WV, a daughter of the late George William and Roberta Elizabeth Tippens Barnhart. She had attended the Mt. Nebo Church of Christ, and had been employed by the Maryland Cup Corporation in Reisterstown, MD. Her hobbies included jig saw puzzles and quilting.
She is survived by two daughters, Zelma G. Blevins and her husband, Bill of Troutman, NC, and Patricia Thompson and her husband, Stanley of Statesville, NC, grandchildren, Ronnie Stewart, Kathy Danner, Karen Stewart, Sandra Morrison, Deborah Isenhour, Brenda Waugh, Diane Johnson, and James Rodgers, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, one sister, Hazel Dalrymple of Bens Run, WV, one brother, George Barnhart of Paden City, WV, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, James William Harding and George Edwin Rodgers, sisters, Myrtle Kimball, Hilda Dalrymple, and Edith Dalrymple, and brothers, Joe Barnhart, Franklin Barnhart, Oliver Barnhart, Paul Barnhart, Dean Barnhart, Jim Barnhart and Thurman Barnhart.

Daniel Ray Eddy, 60, of Apex, NC, formerly of St. Marys, WV, died December 12, 2008, at his residence. He was born July 23, 1948, in Ritchie County, WV, a son of the late James A. and Sylvia Dotson Eddy. He was a retired electrician from the former Colin Anderson Center with 25 years service, and he worked for 5 years with the Department of Health and Human Resources in Parkersburg as Building Maintenance Technician. He was a 1968 graduate of Doddridge County High School. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, and his hobbies included hunting, fishing, and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Debra Jean Oyler Eddy, two daughters, Ghislenia Rae Eddy-Qudwa (Zack) of Fuquay Varina, NC, and Holly Danielle Eddy-Kutcher (Matthew) of Raleigh, NC, three grandchildren, Noah Qudwa,Tahir Qudwa, and Adam Kutcher, one sister, Deloris Eddy of Salem, WV, four brothers, Wade Eddy (Debra), Wayne Eddy (Nina), “Knuck” Eddy (Judy) all of Salem, WV, and Gary Eddy (Kay) of Clarksburg, WV, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Eddy.
Services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at 11 a. M. at the Ingram Funeral home with Jimmy Willison, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in the Willow Island Cemetery, Willow Island, WV, with a military graveside service. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P. M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jacob “Jake” S. Moore, 85, of Oxford, NC, formerly of St. Marys and Belmont, died, December 12, 2008, at his residence in Oxford. He was born, June 10, 1923, in St. Marys, WV, a son of the late Jacob L. and Eliza Belle Winland Moore. He was a Veteran of World War II, a Lifelong member of the Lions Club, a member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church, and a supporter of the St. Marys High School Marching Band.
He is survived by a daughter, Deloris Cole and her husband, George of Clark, PA, a son, Wayne Moore and Kevin Gilliam of Oxford, NC, a step-son, Michael Clark and his wife, Judy of Waterford, OH, a step daughter, Sharon Elliott and her husband, John of St. Marys, WV, four grandchildren, Chris Cole of Hermitage, PA, Brandie Cole of Clark, PA, Jason Moore of Charlotte, NC, and Geoff Moore of Bahama, NC, six step grandchildren, Melissa Clark of Cambridge, OH, Kelly Curran and Charles Clark of Lowell, OH, David Elliott of Belmont, WV, Dennis Elliott of St. Marys, WV, and Dawayne Elliott of Belmont, WV, six great grandchildren, ten step great grandchildren, two sisters Helen Colvin and Virginia Boley both of St. Marys, WV, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Twila Jean Moore, his second wife, Charlet Clark Moore, three brothers, Herschel Moore, Raymond Moore, and Eugene Moore, and three sisters, Ethel Hinds, Pearl Smith, and Naomi Felter.

Mary Jo Zipf
Date and Time of Service: 12/20/08 - 10 A. M.
Mary Jo Zipf, age 70, passed away on November 25, after a battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was born in St. Marys, WV, on March 5, 1932, to the late Charles Robert Hayes and Katherine Virginia Barkwill Hayes and was one of ten children. She was a graduate of St. Marys High School with the Class of 1950. In school, she was a member of the Blue Devil Marching Band as a majorette and belonged to several clubs. While in school, she married her High School sweetheart, George Zipf, in 1950. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in St. Marys. She was a Cub Scout, Brownie Scout, and Girl Scout Leader and belonged to the St. Marys Women's Club and Garden Club. She moved to Tempe, Arizona, with her family in 1973. After working for Motorola for 18 years, she retired in 1994. While at Motorola, she served on the profit Sharing Council for 12 years and received a U. S. Patent for an Electronic Card Reading Machine. She loved sewing, knitting, reading, hiking, and white-water rafting. Most of all, she loved traveling with her husband, George and listening to her son Allan play the organ at church. She and her husband were married for 58 wonderful years. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, George of Tempe, Arizona, one son, Allan Zipf of St. Marys, WV, two daughters, Kathy Dennison of Chandler, AZ and Susan Zipf of Tempe, AZ, two grandsons, John Dennison and Michael Dennison, both of Chandler, AZ, three brothers, Jack Hayes (Mary) of Paden City, WV, Jerry Hayes (Darlene) of Friendly, Ted Hayes (Sandy) of Hartford City, and Six Sisters, Grace McGee of Wilmington, NC, Alice Williams of New Martinsville, Sally Davis of Belmont, Katy Springer of New Martinsville, Kathy Bettem (John) of Moundsville, and Ada Hayes of Friendly. A memorial service will be at 10 A. M., Saturday, December 20, at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Parkersburg, WV, with the Rev. Canon Arthur L. Bennett, III officiating. The family will receive friends after the service and at Ingram Funeral Home in St. Marys on Sunday, December 21, from 4 to 9 P. M. The family requests that donations be made to the Music Department at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 903 Charles Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101.

Jane E. Malone, 78, of St. Marys, WV passed away December 10, 2008. She was born February 4, 1930 in Parkersburg, WV to the late Earl Richard and Alice Audrey Crandall Backus. She enjoyed gardening, counted cross stitch, puzzle books, cooking, ceramics, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Erin Pritchett and her husband, Russell, and Crystal Malone both of St. Marys, WV, one grandson, Craig Pritchett and his wife, Lyncee, of Belmont, WV, one granddaughter Kari Pritchett of St. Marys, one brother, Richard Backus and his wife, Norma, of Parkersburg, WV, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ensil Malone in 1996, and two sisters, Alice Earlene “Jeanne” Hanus and Joyce Eilene Riachi.

Gene Flanagan
Gail Eugene “Gene” Flanagan, 64, of St. Marys, WV, died December 1, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Parkersburg, WV. He was born, June 8, 1944, in Paden City, WV, a son of Gail F. Flanagan of Paden City, WV, and the late Freda Bowen Flanagan. He was retired from the former Quaker State Refinery in St. Marys with 25 years service, and was retired from Carehaven of Pleasants. He was a 1964 graduate of Sistersville High School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving with the Military Police in Berlin, Germany. He was a Methodist and his hobbies included woodworking, hunting, and fishing.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay Deaton Flanagan, one son, Sean Flanagan of St. Marys, three granddaughters, Amber Flanagan, Gabrielle Flanagan, and Rachael Flanagan all of St. Marys, one sister, Patricia Flanagan of Paden City, WV and one nephew, Robbie Flanagan in New York. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Flanagan.

Gary Lee Carpenter, 66, of New Cumberland, WV formerly of St. Marys, WV, passed away November 28, 2008, at the East Liverpool City Hospital, East Liverpool, OH. He was born August 25, 1942, in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William “Bill” Carpenter. He was a former member of the St. Marys Volunteer Fire Department and the Pleasants County Volunteer Emergency Squad and he retired from Quaker State in 1997 after 31 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Helen Carpenter, children, Jill Swan and her husband, Martin, of New Cumberland, WV, Kelly Carpenter and his wife, Julie, of Lampasas, TX, Shannon Rhoades and her husband, Greg, of Weirton, WV, grandchildren, Tyler Swan and Dakota Swan of New Cumberland, WV, Cody Carpenter of Lampasas, TX, Caleb Carpenter, Austin Carpenter, Brendon Carpenter, and Dalton Rhoades all of Weirton, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Roderick Myles “Rick” Ginter, 49 of Belmont, WV, died, November 28, 2008, at the Montefiorie Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born January 17, 1959, in Medina County, OH, a son of James A. Ginter and Julie Ginter. He enjoyed raising cockatiels and riding 4-wheelers.
He is survived by his father James A. Ginter of Discovery Bay, Calif., mother, Julie Ginter of Belmont, WV, and one sister, Joyce Bills of Calcutta, WV. He was preceded in death by his uncle Shane Bills, maternal grandparents Glen and Dorthea Davis and paternal grandparents George and Vera Ginter.

Howard A. Cronin, 81, of Pickerington, OH, formerly of Williamstown, WV, died, November 3, 2008, at his residence. He was born, June 24, 1927, in Pleasants County, WV, a son of the late James I. and Nancy Smith Cronin. He was retired from the Pleasants County Schools as a bus driver. He was a member of the Pleasants County Schools Retired Service Personnel, and was a member of the Waverly Church of Christ. He had been a security guard at the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport. He enjoyed watching television especially westerns.
He is survived by a son, David Cronin of Texas, a step-daughter, with whom he made his home, Penny Poling and her husband, Terry, fourteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two sisters, Pearl Winland of St. Marys, WV and Virginia Hendershot of New Matamoras, OH, one brother, Robert Cronin of Waverly, WV, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Francis Cronin, step son, Sheldon Hays, two step daughters, Frances Hashman and Sally Hendrickson, two brothers, Dandy and James, and two sisters, Rose and Louella.

William H. “Bill” Farson, 56, of St. Marys, WV, died, October 24, 2008, at his residence. He was born, June 2, 1952, in Wood County, WV, a son of the late Joseph Carl and Edna Virginia Maston Farson. He had been employed by Asplundh Tree Service and Dave Hensler as a timberer. He had served in the U. S. Army and was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his Fiancée, Shirley West of St. Marys, WV, one son, Greg Farson of St. Marys, WV, one daughter, Rebecca Sams of Parkersburg, WV, two step daughters, Michelle West of St. Marys, WV, and Diana Corbin of Lubeck, WV, two step sons, Jay Scoggan of Clay County, WV, and Nathan West of St. Marys, WV, several grandchildren, one sister, Nancy Davis Vannoy of Belmont, WV, four brothers, Joseph C. Farson, Larry Dale Farson, Robert H. Farson, and Jack Lee Farson all of St. Marys, WV, several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Ron Boley and Harold "Groundhog" Jeffers. She was born, June 24, 1933, a daughter of the late Sherman Roosevelt Morrell and Goldie Alice Mahaney Morrell Kester. Fay was a 1952 graduate of St. Marys High School and she was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and Ladies Mission Society. Fay is survived by two daughters, Brenda Poling and her husband, Jerry, Debbie Kester Cunningham and her husband, Bill, grandson, Stephen Kester all of St. Marys, WV, three brothers, Ray Morrell of Schultz, WV, Don Morrell, Frank Lee Kester both of St. Marys, WV, four sisters, Betty Astle of Twinsburg, OH, Cassie Marshall of Parkersburg, WV, Juanita Veon of Pataskala, OH, and Reva Riser of Parkersburg, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband who she married on September 28, 1951, Carlton H. “Buck” Kester, step-father, Carlton R. “Dick” Kester, one son, Carlton Russell “Rusty” Kester, two brothers, James L. “Buddy” Morrell, Dale Morrell, an infant brother and sister, and several nieces and nephews. William James “Willie” Stewart, 85, passed away October 17, 2008, at Lakin Hospital Nursing Facility, West Columbia, WV. He was born June 3, 1923 in Pleasants County, WV, a son the late Otha and Sarah Ann Farnsworth Stewart. He was one of twelve children.
He is survived by one sister, Goldie Mae Lamp of St. Marys, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Bishop, Charles, George, Lewis “Pete”, Eugene “Smokey” Stewart, and five sisters, Clara Geer, Mary Boucott, Nell Bolen, Elizabeth Weekly and Della Chips.
Services will be held Monday, October 20, 2008, at 1 P. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV. Calling hours will be from 12 Noon until the time of the service on Monday.

Beverly Karen Jenkins Evans, 65, of St. Marys, WV, passed away, October 14, 2008 at her residence. She was born on June 13, 1943 in Adams Co., OH, a daughter of the late Mary Hughes Cluxton. She attended Zoar Baptist Church. Beverly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and working in her rose garden.
She is survived by four daughters, Tammy Cox and her husband, Steve, of Belpre, OH, Ginger Childers and her husband, Rickey, Susie Rea and her husband, Steve, Debbie Jenkins all of St. Marys, WV, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a sister, Shirley, and her dog, Honey. Hal E. Smith, 81, of Waverly, WV, Oak Grove Community, died, October 9, 2008, at his residence. He was born, October 12, 1926, in Jackson County, WV. He was a 1945 Graduate of St. Marys High School, was a 60 year member of the Waverly United Methodist Church, and was a retired chemist from American Cyanamid with 42 years service. He was U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Legion Post 64 of Marietta, OH. He was a 50 year member of IOOF Lodge #22 and the Encampment # 26. His hobbies included hunting and he was a loyal Mountaineer Fan.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joann Sweeney Smith, three children, Pam (Dave) Hamilton, and Penny (Sherrill) Sharp all of Waverly, WV, and Harry (Pippa) Smith of St. Marys, WV, seven grandchildren, K.C. Neely, Olivia Starcher, Aimee Neely, Amanda Brittan, Cora Butcher, Patricia Smith, and Stephen Smith, nine great grandchildren, Marissa and Kelsey Neely, Isaiah and Evan Starcher, Bryce Neely, Chandler and Natalee Butcher, Hailey “Izzy” and Hollie Smith, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie McPherson Smith, his father, Morris Eugene Smith and his step mother, Vickie Metz Smith.

Joy was a 1989 graduate of St. Marys High School, a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Gulf War, and a 1997 graduate of Washington State Community College with an Associates Degree in Business and Accounting. She also enjoyed fishing.
Joy is survived her life partner, Vanessa Montgomery, her mother, Carolyn Winland Willis of Newport, OH, father, Leon Willis of St. Marys, WV, step-father, Bob Rouse of Newport, OH, sister, Janel Jacobs and her husband, Steve, of Orlando, FL., niece Avery Jacobs of Orlando, FL., maternal grandmother Norma Winland of Belmont, WV, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lula B. Snyder, 96, of St. Marys, WV, died October 7, 2008, at the Heritage, St. Marys, WV. She was born, December 15, 1911, in Pleasants County, WV, a daughter of the late Hayes H. and Martha Ellen Dotson Hall. She was a 1930 graduate of St. Marys High School. She was a member of the Dewey Avenue Church of Christ. She helped her husband operate the former Snyder Service Station, was a retired cook at the St. Marys High School, and was a member of the Pleasants County School Retired Service Personnel. She was past matron and a 50 year member of the St. Marys Chapter # 31 Order of the Eastern Star, she had been treasurer for many years, and was Grand Representative for WV in Manitoba, Canada. She was a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was an avid St. Marys and WVU sports fan, and she loved to cook.
She is survived by her three sons, James E. Snyder and his wife, Mary Sue of Cocoa, FL, Terry E. Snyder and his wife, Janet of St. Marys, WV, and David Snyder and his wife, Suzi of Newport, OH, six grandchildren, Tom Snyder and his wife, Tamara, and Jamie Ray and her husband, Buddy all of Atlanta, GA, Troy Snyder of Morgantown, WV, Traci Brammer and her husband, B. J. of St. Marys, WV, Justin Snyder and Adam Snyder and his wife, Anna all of Newport, OH, eleven great grandchildren, Mary Jo and Allison Ray, and Sydney and James Snyder all of Atlanta, GA, Gwen and Maddie Brammer both of St. Marys, WV, and Jocee Ankrom, Lane Snyder, Lilli Snyder, Alyssa Snyder, and Ethan Snyder all of Newport, OH, an adopted sister, Bari Brake of St. Marys, WV, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Harry E. Snyder, four brothers, and six sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Reuben Eugene Erb, 65, of St. Marys, WV, went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2008, after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born January 2, 1943 in Caywood, Washington County, WV, the eldest son of Dewey and Lettie Jones Erb. He was a loving and dedicated father, husband, grandfather, and brother. He was a member of the Carpenters Local #899 for 30 years. He retired from Schneider Construction Company after 14 years of service.

Marvin E. “Buck” Wells, 76, of Bens Run, Arvilla Community, WV, passed away August 21, 2008, at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born February 27, 1932, in Point Lookout, Bens Run, WV, a son of the late Earl and Icephene Miller Wells. Buck served in the U. S. Army from November 1953 to November 1955 and he retired from Ormet of Hannibal, OH after 33 years of service. He was co-owner of Wells Cattle Farm, where he enjoyed raising Black Angus cattle. He has been affiliated with Sistersville Tank Works since 1984. He was a member of Zion Methodist Church, Friendly, WV. He was a member of Sistersville Elks #333, American Legion Post 86 of Paden City, WV, VFW Post 6327 of Sistersville, WV, Masonic Lodge 32nd Degree, Nemesis Shrine, and Tyler Co. Shrine Club.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet W. Wells, one daughter, Darlene Morgan and her husband, Allen, of Friendly, Arvilla Community, one son, Dr. Marvin Wells and his partner, Randy Boughner, of Clarkston, MI, two grandsons, Jason Morgan of Parkersburg, WV, and Zach Morgan of Arvilla Community, three nieces, one nephew, and several great nieces and nephews. He retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service to his country.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Denzil Wilson, Julian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Beryl Wilson, George Wilson, Don Wilson, and Harry Wilson.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at 2 P. M. at the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery with Evangelist Arnold Huyghebaert officiating. There will be no calling hours. Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV is in charge of arrangements.

Preston "Jim" Brammer

Preston “Jim” Brammer, 73, of Belmont, WV, died August 2, 2008, at the UMPC Hospital Shadyside, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born, June 12, 1935, in Weirton, WV, a son of the late Roy and Alice Gorrell Brammer. He was a retired truck driver and had been employed by Murphy’s Trucking Company in Marietta, OH, and he had been driving cars for Cottrill’s Cars. He was a Baptist. Hobbies included Fishing and NASCAR Racing.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Bowen Brammer, two daughters, Missy Moore and her husband, Tom, and Liza Lough and her husband, Brad all of St. Marys, WV, one step daughter, Connie Mossor of St. Marys, WV, five grandchildren, two step grandsons, two step great grandsons, one brother, Roy Brammer of St. Marys, WV, several nieces and nephews, his daschound, “Red”, and beloved friends, Jerry Cottrill, Tim Gumm, and Greg Gumm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn “Tootie” Brammer, and daughter, Trudy Caroline Brammer.
Services will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at 2 P. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Pastor Kay Larsen officiating. Interment will be in the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P. M. Tuesday, and from 1 to 2 P. M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

M. Maxine Harris

Mary Maxine Harris, 78, of Newport, OH, passed away August 1, 2008. She was born December 18, 1929 in Washington Co., OH to the late Charles Raymond and Hattie Marie Noland Rogers. Maxine was a 1948 graduate of Newport High School and a co-owner of the former Harris Supermarket in Newport. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, and collecting teapots.
She is survived by two sons, Kermit L. Harris of Newport, OH, Max Harris and his wife, Joyce, of Parkersburg, WV, three granddaughters, Andrea Harris, a student at Ohio University in Athens, OH, Cady Harris of Belpre, OH, Maggie Tome of Marietta, OH, one great-grandchild, Lucas Tome of Marietta, OH, two sisters, Evelyn Young of Massillon, OH, Linda Sweda of Elyria, OH, and her former husband of 39 years, Kermit G. Harris. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Rogers.
Services will be held Monday, August 4, 2008, at 11 A. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Rev. Richard Heller officiating. Burial will be in the Hearn Cemetery, Washington Co., OH. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P. M. on Sunday and from 10 A. M. to the time of the service on Monday.
