Biography

Sandy Birkhimer, 65, of Marietta, OH, formerly of St. Marys, WV, died, January 19, 2010, at the Arbors of Marietta. She was born, September 9, 1944, in St Marys, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph P. and Tina Eldora Hackathorn Birkhimer. She was a 1966 graduate of St. Marys High School, and was retired from the former Colin Anderson Center, St. Marys in 1987 after 18 years. She had attended the George Church of Christ. She was President of the Residents Council of the Arbors, a task that she took serious. She very active in all the activities at the Arbors, including Bible Study.

She is survived by a sister, Jeanette P. Birkhimer Griffin of Scott Depot, WV, a brother, Jim Birkhimer and his wife, Carol of Cleveland, OH, five nephews, W. Michael Griffin and his wife, Patricia, Robert D. Fugate and his wife, Dianna, Randy Fugate, James Lynn Birkhimer and Phillip Birkhimer, one niece, Beth Ann Hilderbrand, two great nephews, and three great nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Birkhimer Fugate.

Graveside services will be held Friday, January 22, 2010, at 3:30 P. M. at the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery with Arnold Huyghebaert officiating. There will be no calling hours and Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV is in charge of arrangements.
