Biography
James William “Buddy” Maston, 83, of St. Marys, WV, passed away, July 11, 2010 at Heartland of Marietta, OH. He was born February 6, 1927 in Schultz Community, Pleasants County, WV, a son of the late Bud and Fern Moore Maston. He was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church, he served in the 71st Infantry in WWII and he was employed for over 33 years at the former American Cyanamid Plant. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by two sons, Russell Maston and his wife, Susie, of St. Marys, WV, Ralph Maston and his wife, Linda, of Florence, KY, one daughter, Sandra Noland and her husband, Richard, of St. Marys, WV, 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, four sisters, Phyllis (Leo) Sigler, of St. Marys, WV, Betty Maston of St. Marys, WV, Jane (Wayne) Higgins of Belmont, WV, Leona Kelley of Paden City, WV, and four brothers, Bill (Kate) Maston of St. Marys, WV, Paul (Bessie) Maston of St. Marys, WV, Jerry Maston of Texas, Charlie (Sarah) Maston of West Union, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Elizabeth Maston and one daughter, Sarah Dennis.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at 11 A. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Pastor Chuck Ferrell officiating. Interment will be in the Willow Island Cemetery, Willow Island, WV. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 P. M. Tuesday and from 10 until 11 A. M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of James “Buddy” Maston's late wife, Donna Maston, to the Alzheimer’s Association, West Virginia Chapter, 1111 Lee Street, East, Charleston, WV 25301.
