Biography

Dale N. Powell, 81, of St. Marys, WV, passed away, March 20, 2012, at the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph’s Campus in Parkersburg, WV. He was born, October 20, 1930, in Pleasants County, WV, a son of the late Hal and Pearl Cunningham Powell. He was a retired boilermaker, and was a member of the Boilermakers Local 667. His hobbies included deer hunting and watched sports on Television. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dicie Matheney Powell, children, Bryon Powell of Belmont, WV, and Sharon (Ron) Frey of Mineral Ridge, OH, grandchildren, Tabatha (Chris) Hickel of Middleburg, FL, Tiffany (John) Datchuk of Niles, OH, and Christopher (Kathryn) Frey of Mineral Ridge, OH, great grandchildren, Lani Hickel, Michael Frey, Marlowe Frey, and Ava Datchuk, sister, Freda Riggs of Williamstown, WV, brother, Wayne Powell of Perrysville, MD, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Smith and a brother, Charles Powell.

Services will be held Friday, March 23, 2012, at 2 P. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Dave Williamson officiating. Interment will be in the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery, with military graveside rites. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P. M. Thursday, and from 1 to 2 P. M. Friday at the funeral home.
